Discover Boulder with your student

Pearl Street – Window shop among historic buildings housing local shops and restaurants. Sit on a bench under a canopy of trees and enjoy and enjoy the best people-watching in the state. You might even spot a street performer or two.

The Hill – Walk among students as you revisit your college days and pick out some vinyl or a poetry book and nosh on a slice of pizza from The Sink, Boulder’s oldest restaurant.

Twenty Ninth Street – When you’re done browsing some of the best national retailers, quench your thirst at The Barrel, an outdoor taproom with 36 craft beers, wines and meads on tap.

Boulder might feel like a small town, but its sophisticated lifestyle demands a rich dining diversity that rivals any major metropolitan area. Many of our restaurants embrace the idea of local, seasonal, artisanal cooking.

Boulder’s restaurants and chefs have been highlighted in Bon Appétit, Wine Spectator, Gourmet, Food and Wine, the New York Times, USA Today, and on Top Chef, Chopped and at the James Beard House.

Be sure to find time to cheer on your team at a University of Colorado sporting event, visit one of the free on-campus museums, attend a musical performance or take in a light show paired with music at Fiske Planetarium.

From town to the foothills and beyond, the Boulder area has trails galore for you to explore. Stroll along the Boulder Creek Trail, hike beneath the Flatirons at Chautauqua, or rent a bike through the city’s B-cycle bike share program. Come ski season, you’ll love the convenience and character of Eldora Mountain Resort just 30 minutes up the canyon from town (check out Boulder Ski Escape online for hotel and lift ticket deals.) And nothing is more magical than a winter night’s skate at Boulder’s seasonal ice rink next to the Dushanbe Teahouse.

While Boulder is known to be one of America’s most outdoorsy communities, our arts scene is vigorous and diverse. The Colorado Shakespeare Festival performs under the stars each summer, and thanks to the Boulder Philharmonic and numerous other ensembles there is music year-round. Drop in at Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA), stroll the downtown art galleries, and experience Open Studios. Boulder is consistently named one of the best art towns in the country.
